Bakkhali – Frejerganj
This is second sea beach of West Bengal
attracting more visitors in recent times as beach
holiday destination. There is 3 Km long stretch of sea
beach with mangrove forest in the backdrop. Enjoying
sunrise and sunset from the beach is additional interest
to the visitors. A small open-air zoo with wild animals
like spotted deer, monkeys and crocodiles is another
spot of interest to family tourists.
Bhagabatpur
The
only crocodile project in West Bengal located adjacent
to the Lothian Island and on the bank of Saptamukhi
Estuary. The dense green forest in the confluence of
Saptamukhi river system has amazing natural beauty
attracting the tourist for all the year round. The
natural hatchery of estuarine crocodile and Batagur
Baska species of tortoise in the project has immense
potential for family tourists and students. The Lothian
Island is one of the sanctuaries of Sundarban having the
tallest watch tower from where fishing trawlers and
ships voyaging in the deep sea can be observed. There is
also a mangrove interpretation centre in Lothian Island.
Sitarampur in G- Plot
This is
a virgin sea beach having a length of about 14 km.
Located on the southern most part of Patharpratima Block
and on the sore of Bay of Bengal. At present this firm
sea beach is not exposed to the tourists as this is
completely isolated from the main land. But this
beautiful sea beach with deep blue sea water in front
and green casuarina forest in the back drop will be
highly attractive to the domestic as well as the
International Tourists.
