Agriculture Programme – 2007-08
Arrear Liability:
This sector has a total arrear liability of Rs. 178.58 lakh only which has spilled over from 2006-07.  These are mainly relating to cost of agricultural inputs and fruit plants procured during that year.

Programme element wise allocation of funds for 2007-08

The agricultural programme of the Board consists of schemes like: (a) distribution of fruit plants amongst school students of this region (b) distribution of agril. Inputs during Rabi season for bringing more areas under double cropping with non-traditional crops like oil seeds, pulses and cotton etc.  The major thrust of this scheme is to create additional employment opportunity for the local people and to bring change in cropping pattern (c) Extension of mushroom (oyster) cultivation; (d) Extension of Cotton cultivation; (f) Demonstration of organic and vermi composting ;(g) Training & Workshop etc on the use of Bio-fertilisers & Bio-pesticides; (h) training & Workshop on agriculture & allied activities etc.

The Agriculture Division of the Board will prepare project proposals for individual schemes for releasing of fund from the current year’s Budget Provision. These schemes will be implemented through 27 Growth Centres of the Board under the supervision of 3 Branch Offices. The beneficiaries under the programmes will be selected in consultation with the representatives of Panchayats, people’s representatives and NGOs.
